Daniele Bonera (born May 31, 1981 in Brescia) is an Italian footballer for A.C. Milan of Serie A where he plays in the role of defender and wears the shirt 25. He is 1.83 meters tall and weighs 74 kg.
Bonera started his career for Brescia Calcio, making his first team debut in 1999/2000, in Serie B league. After two more impressive seasons with Brescia, which led him to be even capped for the Italy national football team, making his debut in a friendly match played September 5, 2001 against Morocco, Bonera moved to Parma in 2002/03.
As of October 2007, he has been capped 12 times for Italy.
On the 28 July 2006 Daniele moved to A.C. Milan for an undisclosed fee.
His UEFA Champions League debut was against Anderlecht, 17 October 2006, in which he received a red card after receiving a second yellow in the 47the minute for what ,in the referees view, was petulantly kicking the ball away as Anderlecht waited to take a Free Kick. After struggling in right back, Bonera was moved to centre back after several defenders were injured and the acquisition of Massimo Oddo from S.S. Lazio in January, a natural Right Back.
He was called up by Roberto Donadoni for Italy's Euro 2008 Qualifier against Scotland, a match scheduled for 28th March 2007, but had to withdraw due to injury.
